Phenix Partners with Evan Brown

At Phenix, we’re always excited to see young people participate in motorsports. For 16 year old Evan Brown, he got an earlier start than most.

Early Years

Evan started racing at age 4 1/2 in IKF “Kid Karts” where he went undefeated in his first test season, winning the championship and “Rookie of the Year” honors. In his second season, he won the championship once again. Due to his efforts, he was allowed to move into the highly competitive JR-1 Division where he finished 3rd overall in his first season and again was awarded “Rookie of the Year.” During the course of two more very successful seasons in JR-1 and as a big sprint car fan, Evan tested himself in a “winged outlaw” dirt kart, where he also excelled.

From Dirt to Asphalt

With eyes towards NASCAR, he decided he needed to stick with asphalt racing. The following season, Evan entered his first asphalt short track race in essentially a “mini stock” where he finished a close 2nd in the championship and received the track “Rookie of the Year” honors.

Following his initial short track season in mini stocks, he was allowed to enter the extremely competitive Legends Car Division as a “Young Lion.” In his first Legends Car season, he was successful in not only winning the Track Championship in his division, he also won the Idaho State Championship and “Rookie of the Year” honors.

After two very successful seasons in the Legends Car Pro-Division, Evan has moved into his #98 Pepsi Sprint Car. He already has an incredible 12 years of continuous racing experience.

In his spare time…

Not only does Evan drive, but he’s also been very hands on building the sprint car and knows it inside and out including designing the paint scheme. He is already an accomplished welder and machinist, currently working on his welding certification at just 16. In his “spare” time, Evan is also an honor roll student that enjoys the outdoors including hiking, hunting and fishing.

Phenix is pleased to be working with Evan and his family and we look forward to cheering #98 on at the track! You can also follow along with Evan on his instagram @hotrod_brown
